In Scrum, the definition of what is to be built is created during Sprint planning.
Sprint Planning answers the following:
- What can be delivered in the Increment resulting from the upcoming Sprint?
- How will the work needed to deliver the Increment be achieved?
Sprint planning produces a Sprint Backlog, a plan for delivering the items contained in the backlog and one or more improvement items.
The Development Team can invite external experts to attend the meeting.
No one leads the meeting. The Scrum Master ensures the event takes place and the purpose is understood by participants.
Keep in mind: the Scrum Master teaches the Scrum Team to keep the meeting within the time-box. The duration of the event is eight hours for a one-month Sprint.
